Providing a full range of therapeutic interventions including a commitment to use evidence-based psychotherapies for a wide range of mental health disorders delivered via group and individual psychotherapy modalities, face to face, and via telemedicine equipment. Serving as Mental Health Treatment Coordinator for a panel of Veterans and consulting with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues. Functioning independently as a member of the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System Medical Staff, with full clinical privileges. Assuming complete professional responsibility for his/her clinical assessment findings, patient care decisions, and documentation. May contribute to the training of medical students, medical and psychiatric residents, nursing students, or other mental health trainees, by teaching occasional lectures and seminars and providing limited supervision for clinical practicum experience. May be involved in Psychology Training Program and Training Committee via presentation at Psychology Trainee or Service didactics. Understanding of the integration of science and practice. Can have the opportunity to plan and engage in research, in the role of principal investigator or co-investigator, designed to provide information regarding program planning and relevant treatment approaches. May have the opportunity to assist the Team and/or Service Chief in the execution of ongoing program evaluation and data-driven quality improvement projects to monitor the effectiveness of their clinical program Can assist the Service in the design, development, and implementation of clinical treatment programs.
