ManpowerGroup Lab technician II in Milton, Georgia

Job Title: Lab Technician

Duration: 12 Month Contract (possibility to extend or convert)

Location: ONSITE - 13000 Deerfield Parkway, Ste 300, Milton, GA 30004

Hours: 8am - 5pm

The Lab Technician position is a critical role within the Surgical RD&E team. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with technical hands-on skills as well as good communication skills (verbal and written). Willingness to work with cross-functional team members including Clients, RD&E, Manufacturing, Marketing, Regulatory, and Quality to achieve objectives. This position will support new product development prototyping and pilot production projects including branded and external OEM medical device products, performing materials testing, product testing, and inspection.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform materials and product testing per established protocols

  • Perform materials and product inspections per defined specifications

  • Specimen preparation including cutting and conditioning

  • Certified to operate and maintain all lab equipment

  • Maintain safe laboratory environment

  • Maintain lab organization utilizing 5S methodology

  • Communicate test and inspection results with internal clients (RD&E personnel)

  • Function within all quality systems and regulations, particularly related to medical devices

  • Willingness to support additional tasks supporting the Maker Space (Design Engineers) that may be out of daily lab operation

  • Adhere to GLP

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in technical field (preferably Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Automation) prefer 3 plus years’ experience

  • Works under general supervision on assigned tasks or portions of a project - Self-motivated

  • Experienced in mechanical test lab environment

  • Experience with Instron electromechanical test systems, (BlueHill software)

  • Knowledge of plastic film materials, pressure sensitive adhesive components and other medical device materials

  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word

  • Experienced with small inspection equipment, calipers, micrometers, timers, temperature measurement, etc.

  • Problem-solving and communication skills

  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams

  • Willingness to learn; comfortable learning and working on projects that may be in unfamiliar areas

  • Experience working within a regulated environment, preferably medical device Class 1 Disposable Medical Device Product Development and/or production

Preferred Skills/Education:

  • Bachelors degree in technical field (preferably Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Automation) prefer 3 plus years’ experience

  • 3 years Experience in a technical role supporting lab practices

  • Self-starter and ability to work independently

  • Attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Willingness to learn; comfortable learning and working on projects that may be in unfamiliar areas.
