The Assistant Professor will be appointed as a member of the full-time faculty of the Department of Urology reporting directly to the Chairman with the following specific responsibilities:

  • Function as an attending physician at University of Miami Hospital and Clinics (UMH C ), Jackson Memorial Hospital (JMH), and Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) including responsibility for coverage of inpatient and outpatient cases as well as operating room supervision of residents and outpatient clinics in the Ambulatory Care Center s .

  • Perform clinical activities through the University of Miami Medical Group (UMMG) clinical practice plan as well as supervise and teach residents and fellows both in inpatient and outpatient settings. This i nclud es surgical activit ies at UMH C , JMH, and VA .

  • Will also provide in-patient consultat ions and emergency on-call .

    Requirements:

  • M.D. from accredited medical school,

  • board eligibility / certification in Urology

  • Previous training in an accredited or unaccredited 1 year fellowship with Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) and/or Urogynecology is required .

    The Department of Urology at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking outstanding candidates for a faculty position specializing in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery / Urogynecology .

    The University of Miami, Department of Urology has a highly respected faculty practice with robust inpatient and outpatient consultation services, and a residency training program. Urology faculty participate in education of fellows, residents, and medical students through conferences, mentoring, and clinical teaching. Duties will include providing direct patient care to adult inpatients and outpatients in the University of Miami faculty practice or other satellite clinics, and inpatient consult services at the University of Miami Hospitals and Jackson Memorial Hospital. The search committee will begin evaluating applications as they are received and applications will continue to be reviewed until the position is filled.

    Requirements include eligibility for an unrestricted Florida Medical License or Faculty Medical Certificate, completing the required UM online training i.e. HIPPA/Billing Compliance, and being credentialed by the University of Miami Medical Group, University of Miami Health System and affiliated institutions. Board eligibility / certification in Urology or Gynecology and Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) is preferred. Faculty are eligible for the fringe benefit package of the University of Miami Medical Group. Rank and salary will be based on background and experience. The University of Miami is an EOE.
