Banfield Pet Hospital IT Senior Project Manager-(MVH) in Los Angeles, California

Candidate will be expected to be in the Westlake, CA office 3x per week.

The IT Senior Project Manager plays a crucial role in the successful planning, execution, and completion of IT projects within Voyager Health. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, technical expertise, and the ability to effectively lead and coordinate with cross-functional teams and vendors. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for driving project success, managing resources, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality IT solutions.

  1. Project Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables. Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.

  2. Project Execution: Lead and manage all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to project plans, budgets, and timelines. Monitor project progress, track milestones, and communicate updates to stakeholders.

  3. Resource Management: Identify and allocate project resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget. Coordinate with team members and departments to ensure availability and utilization of resources.

  4. Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Assign tasks, set clear expectations, and facilitate effective communication and coordination among team members.

  5. Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including senior management, and technical teams. Regularly communicate project status, risks, and issues, and manage stakeholder expectations.

  6. Risk Management: Identify, address, and proactively mitigate project risks. Develop risk management strategies and contingency plans to minimize potential disruptions. Monitor and escalate issues as necessary.

  7. Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet established quality standards.

  8. Change Management: Evaluate change requests and assess their impact on project scope, schedule, and budget. Manage change requests, communicate changes to stakeholders, and implement adjustments while minimizing disruptions.

  9. Document and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, schedules, status reports, and RAID logs. Prepare comprehensive project reports for stakeholders and senior management.

  10. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization in project management practices. Gather lessons learned from completed projects and apply them to enhance future project outcomes.

Education/Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field. Project experience as an IT Project Manager or in a similar role, successfully delivering IT projects.

  • Certifications: Professional certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM).

  • 10+ years of experience as a project manager.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Project Management Skills: Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices. Proficiency in project management software and collaboration tools.

  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and software development process. Familiarity with various technology domains and trends.

  • Leadership Abilities: Excellent leadership and team management skills. Ability to inspire and motivate team members, foster collaboration, and resolve conflicts.

  • Communication Skills: exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior management.

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address project issues and risks effectively. Ability to make informed decisions and adapt to changing circumstances.

  • Organization and Time Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

  • Risk Management: Proven ability to identify and mitigate project risks. Experience in developing risk management strategies and contingency plans.

  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements, priorities, and technologies. Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Compensation Range: $100,531- $150,797
