Position Title Adjunct Faculty - Horticulture

FLSA Exempt

Full Time/Part Time Part Time

Department Agriculture

Campus Central Campus

Location Central Campus

Salary PTEA

Hours Part-time, include requirement and total hours per week - as needed, not to exceed 19.5 hours per week

Summary of Position

To teach college transfer courses or certificate courses in Farm & Ranch Management, Agriculture Sciences, and/or Horticulture.

Minimum Required Education

Masters Degree from a nationally, regionally, or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education including 18 graduate hours in Agriculture and/or related courses required.

Minimum Required Experience

Minimum of three years in an Agriculture or related industry.

Prior teaching experience preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Teach Agriculture Science, Horticulture and/or Viticulture courses as assigned.

• Teach face-to-face, online, hybrid, and/or other classes as needed.

• An active participant in the Agriculture industry.

• Computer literacy required.

• Ability to communicate with written and oral expertise in the English language.

• Proficiency in the use of agriculture equipment and machinery operation.

• Ability to promote an effective environment for learning in lecture and lab experiences.

• Ability to teach students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
