Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking a full-time, tenure track or non-tenure track faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
The successful candidate will: contributes to, and/or directs the development and delivery of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology curriculum in foundational and systems-based courses. Collaborates with faculty in other departments to provide a highly integrated curriculum. Provides instruction using various methods of content delivery, including large and small group discussions, team-based learning, case-based learning, and other interactive approaches. Participates in the writing of exam questions based on COMLEX - USA and USMLE styles. Maintains scholarly activities, including application for research grants, dissemination of research findings in peer-reviewed journals, and conference attendance. Mentors research projects involving participation from osteopathic medical students. Acts as a faculty advisor and participate in selection of students. Participates in university and college committee services. Performs other duties as assigned by the chair of the department.
