The Manufacturing Engineering team within Boeing Defense Systems is seeking a highly motivated and talented Manufacturing Engineer (Associate-Level) to join our growing team located in Huntington Beach, California.

The primary focus for this position is to plan and lead department/organization processes for developing, implementing and maintaining various manufacturing installation plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration in an Installation/Assembly environment. Candidates will be engaging with all manufacturing, engineering, and production-supporting organizations and should be a self-starter as well as a collaborative team player.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops, owns and implements integrated work instructions to ensure the production build statement of work, technical and customer requirements are achieved using design engineering and specifications as well as Boeing policies, procedures and best practices. In all areas ie: structures, electrical, systems and/or production test statement of work.

  • Provides Manufacturing support, gathers resources and communicates personnel, facilities, services, equipment and tools needed to meet rate and improvement project portfolio requirements.

  • Assists throughout the value stream to enhance build plan performance and assists first-level managers and others within the team to drive corrective actions.

  • Interrogates, interprets and communicates Engineering intent and able to provide detailed engineering requirements and analysis.

  • Provides on-going build plan performance feedback.

  • Establishes partnerships and relationships with internal and external customers, stakeholders, peers and direct reports.

  • Integrate in the larger Engineering organization and function as a part of a high performing team.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at our Huntington Beach, CA, location.

This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance post start, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. top secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Experience in CAD/CAM software and other relevant engineering tools.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively partner with production personnel and other stakeholders.

  • Ability to analyze complex manufacturing issues and provide innovative solutions

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Typical Summary Pay Range:

Summary pay range for Associate level: $68,000 - $92,000
