UTHealth Houston School of Dentistryinvites applicants for one full-time (1.0 FTE) funded, non-tenure, Assistant/Associate Professor position in theKatz Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The individual hired will be assigned primarily to our Houston Memorial Hermann service.

Position Key Accountabilities:

Responsibilities will include training and teaching students and residents in both clinic and hospital settings, as well as teaching residents in didactic and clinical settings on how to treat and manage a variety of dental and maxillofacial conditions and any ensuing complications or adverse results related to treatment, including therapies such as pharmacological measures, surgical techniques, and preventative health measures. Participation in the Department’s intramural practice and pursuit of scholarly activities is strongly encouraged.

Qualifications:

  • Dental degree recognized by the Commission on Dental Education of the American Dental Association, or equivalent.

  • Current license to practice dentistry or the opportunity to secure a Texas faculty license for dentistry before employment.

  • Board certification or Board eligibility in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. To be eligible for Board certification, successful completion of 48 months of training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is needed.

Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This is a security-sensitive position and thereby subject to Texas Education Code # 51.215. A background check will be required for the final candidate.
