DESCRIPTION OF WORK As part of our comprehensive on-the-job training program, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the repair and overhaul of various vehicles and heavy equipment. In addition, you will gain valuable skills in maintaining and fixing equipment like sweepers, mixers, and front-end loaders. You will be trained to identify necessary repairs and assist in replacing parts such as shock absorbers, transmissions, hour meters, clutches, brakes, and more. Furthermore, you will also be involved in conducting official state inspections for safety and emissions, as assigned. This includes performing necessary repairs to ensure compliance with specifications, conducting road tests on vehicles, completing inspection stickers, attaching them to vehicles, and maintaining accurate State Inspection Records and related forms.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Schedule is subject to change due to weather/season; winter shifts, 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years as a Tradesman Helper (commonwealth title) working in the automotive field; or Graduation from a post-high school diesel technology curriculum of an accredited trade or technical school; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Conditions of Employment: Certain positions may require employees to possess an active Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's Permit or License on the first day of employment. Certain positions may require employees to possess an active Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations on the first day of employment. Employees may be required to obtain and maintain CDL endorsements and certifications necessary to operate specific pieces of equipment. All positions will require employees to obtain a valid Pennsylvania Class 1, 4, or 7 Inspection Mechanic Certification during the probationary period. All positions require operation of vehicles or equipment with a manual transmission. Certain positions will require employees to pass the Department of Transportation's New Mechanic Training course during the probationary period. This position is subject to Drug and Alcohol testing in accordance with Federal Regulations.
