This PhD Combined Counseling-School Psychology program is located at the Flagstaff Mountain Campus in the College of Education and is closely aligned with the strategic priorities of NAU to elevate excellence for a bold and boundless future. About the Position

The Department of Educational Psychology at Northern Arizona University is hiring for a for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position beginning Fall 2024. Initial review of applications will begin on April 8, 2024, and will continue until the position is filled. We seek applicants for a 9-month, tenure-track position to serve as an Assistant or Associate Professor, Counseling Psychology in our APA-accredited Combined Counseling/School Psychology PhD program.

We particularly encourage candidates who can enhance the department\'s commitment to diversity through teaching, supervision, and outreach. We are interested in candidates with a passion for high-quality clinical care, clinical supervision, conducting research, and teaching at the graduate level. The successful applicant will join existing graduate faculty in the teaching and mentoring of PhD students. In addition, there are many rich opportunities for collaboration and clinical training in Northern Arizona.

Our program is one of four APA-accredited Combined Counseling/School Psychology programs in the United States. In Spring 2022, the APA Commission on Accreditation granted full accreditation of the doctoral Counseling/School PhD program at Northern Arizona Univers ty in Flagstaff, Arizona. The Department of Educational Psychology is housed in the College of Education and offers the Combined Counseling/School Psychology PhD program, a School Psychology Ed.S. program, master\'s programs in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, Counseling - Student Affairs, and Human Relations; and a bachelor\'s program in Applied Human Behavior. Faculty in the department work collaboratively to support student learning across programs.

Responsibilities Include:

Assistant or Associate Professor duties and responsibilities

  • Teach graduate level courses in areas of expertise in the Educational Psychology department.
  • Supervise doctoral level clinical training, including practicum and fieldwork.
  • Advise and mentor PhD students in research and serve on dissertation committees.
  • Maintain a research portfolio in line with tenure-track or tenured faculty requirements, including seeking external funding.
  • Fulfill service responsibilities to the department, college, university, and the profession, including department accreditation.
