Arnot Health Outpatient Financial Analyst - Outpatient Administration in Elmira, New York

MAIN FUNCTION:The Financial Analyst is responsible for administering all statistical and analytical initiatives for Outpatient Services. This position is also responsible for managing general accounting for the Outpatient Services and its reporting. Working collaboratively with the Outpatient Services Finance Director, this position manages all aspects of outpatient services data and performs capture of data, design, quality assurance, integrity, and statistical analysis, modeling to include pro-forma and break-even, etc. The position also supports business process improvement efforts including projections to enhance automation, quality, and efficiency. Interfaces with Providers to explain compensation plans and questions, etc. This position directly reports to the Outpatient Services Finance Director.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. **Oversees and manages the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports for all Finance and Operations reporting and distribution at Outpatient Services leadership meetings.

  2. **Develops and maintains all practice statistical and analytical data and for developing trend analysis and identify opportunities for improvement.

  3. Creates reports when asked to review payments by payers in comparison to the designated fee schedule. These result in variance reports.

  4. **Creates reports using national benchmarks to measure financial, operation and provider performance improvement.

  5. Performs multiple financial reporting techniques including pro-forma and break-even analysis, staff ratios, payor mix, benchmarks and all with ability for trending.

  6. **Provides monthly, quarterly and/or annual customizable financial reports, all on a timely basis as required by the Outpatient Services leadership.

  7. Drives and supports financial initiatives to ensure effective and efficient structures and processes are in place for smooth analytical and financial reporting.

  8. Maintain and facilitate both development and re-development of physician and APP compensation models, serves as point of contact for provider compensation.

  9. **Integral in modeling, trending productivity, compensation and other expenses for the development of all outpatient services budgets.

  10. **Prepares and maintains accurate financial statements, production, and operational activity reports on a monthly and, as needed, ad hoc basis. Prepares various other standing and custom reports for all outpatient services leadership.

  11. Develops, and maintains appropriate physician and APP productivity reports specific for each physician and APP and each practice location.

  12. Is responsible for attending all mandatory educational programs as required by position.

  13. EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required. Master’s Degree, MBA/MHA/Accounting preferred.

EXPERIENCE:A minimum of two years of experience in healthcare (preferably in a medical group or hospital setting) is preferred. Experience with electronic health records systems, WRVU productivity, ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding for physician billing as well as other key Operational and Financial performance metrics is preferred. - Demonstrated experience in spreadsheet modeling, provider productivity compensation models and report creation is required. The Outpatient Financial Analyst must be a provider-friendly, service oriented, detail oriented and collaborative individual who will serve as a key member of the Outpatient Services team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Long periods of sitting, light lifting 5 lbs. frequently, 10 lbs. occasionally. Typical office job.

EXPOSURE CATEGORY:Category III. Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. Category I tasks are not a condition of employment.
