The Role

Cypress Creek Renewables is actively pursuing an Energy Storage Supply Chain Director. Supply Chain has become an increasingly key component of competitive advantages across developers. The ideal applicant will have experience with energy storage contracts and the ability to solve hard problems, learn quickly in a constantly changing environment, work well on a team, be highly organized and articulate, and effectively communicate complex topics to qualified but non-specialist internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

  • In support of CCR’s Energy Storage System (“ESS”) strategy, project development and project construction organizations, manage CCR’s procurement, inventory management, and logistics functions.

  • Support and maintain supplier relationships, with a specific focus on ESS, Power Conversion Systems, and EMS.

  • Maintain company Approved Vendor List and conduct prequalification of ESS suppliers.

  • Issue, manage, and evaluate RFPs for procurement of software, hardware, and services.

  • Lead negotiations for equipment supplier agreements, service agreements, and software licensing agreements including all contractual terms and conditions.

  • Strategically plan procurement of major equipment with Development, Engineering and Project Management for allocation to project ensuring the correct schedules, costs, and cash flows are being assumed in project models.

  • Evaluate and implement creative procurement methodologies including but not limited to bulk purchasing and capacity allocations.

  • Schedule management of equipment already procured ensuring on time delivery and constant communication with other stakeholders to keep project on schedule.

  • Ensure that ESS and other major material logistics are coordinated with CCR’s project construction.

  • Improve and maintain a forward cost curve for Energy Storage cost estimating to be used in competitive project bid pricing. Ensure forward views account for market risks, such as changes in tariffs or trade restrictions, and provide regular reports in the form of market updates.

  • Ensure equipment meets stakeholder bankability, performance, and reliability standards.

  • Coordinate with CCR’s Accounting Team to ensure proper procedures are in place to ensure on time payment and resolve invoice/price discrepancies.

  • Be CCR’s subject matter expert of supply chain industry trends, technology evolution, and market dynamics.

This position reports to the Vice President of Supply Chain and could manage 1-3 direct reports

Required Experience:

  • 5-10 years of Energy Storage System supply chain experience.

  • B.S. in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline.

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of CCR, including executives and Investment Committee

  • Experience leading contract negotiations for agreements exceeding $100M in value.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and Salesforce

Location(s):

  • Preference for proximity to CCR office (Santa Monica, NC, Durham, NC, or San Francisco, CA) remote also acceptable. Travel to suppliers and projects required as necessary.
