Job Overview

This is a role within the distribution center of Simon & Schuster, a 100-year-old company with offices around the world, that is also the only US owned book publishing house. In this role you will be responsible for the Case Sealer position in our Split Case department.

What you will be doing on a daily basis

Ensure the smooth progression of cartons through the case seal department by maintaining a meticulous workflow. Conduct regular inspections of cartons to ensure their quality and adherence to standards. Take necessary measures to prevent any congestion or delays on the conveyor line. Operate the split case back wall conveyor line efficiently. Be prepared to work overtime when required. Additionally, be willing to undertake any other tasks assigned to you.

Some requirements:

• You must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.

• You must have careful attention to detail and strong communication skillsSome analytical experience is preferableYou must have the ability to stand for up to 8 hours/day

Shift and Schedule:

• Our distribution facility operates in 3 shifts and this particular role is part of the morning shift, working Monday- Friday (5:00 AM – 1:00 PM). There is an opportunity for overtime as well.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
