Job Title: Biomedical and Clinical Data Informatics Research Manager - Danbury, CT

Full-time, 40hours

Summary:

This complex and multifaceted mid-level manager role demands a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead and manage all aspects of biomedical informatics and clinical data for research protocols for the Department of Research and Innovation. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth expertise in analyzing patient molecular data, combining it with Electronic Health Records (EHRs), and applying AI and ML methodologies for statistical modeling and prediction of outcomes. He/She will also have exceptional managerial skills to oversee data coordination staff collaborate across multiple departments, and support clinicians and researchers.The manager will also oversee and support clinical and investigator-initiated research initiatives related to data, collaborating closely with clinicians, fellows, and residents to translate ideas into actionable projects. The role will utilize project management skills to research workflows and implementing efficient data operations.

This hybrid job description seeks to balance technical expertise in bioinformatics with managerial skills tailored to support clinical and biomedical data research initiatives. The ideal candidate will be adept at leading both the technical aspects of biomedical analysis and the managerial aspects of supporting clinical research within a multi-hospital health system.

Responsibilities:

Managerial and Collaborative Responsibilities:

1) Clinical and Biomedical Research Oversight:

Manages and supports data related clinical and biomedical research initiatives, ensuring alignment with hospital research goals.

Supports investigator-initiated research projects, collaborating with clinicians, fellows, and residents to translate research ideas into actionable projects.

2) Biostatistics Support:

Provides biostatistics expertise for study design, data analysis, and interpretation, ensuring statistical rigor in research methodologies.

Collaborates with statisticians to validate and refine research findings.

3) Multidisciplinary Collaboration:

Supports and collaborates across multidisciplinary fields in a hospital research setting, bridging the gap between bioinformatics and clinical research.

Facilitates communication and collaboration between diverse teams, fostering a culture of interdisciplinary research excellence.

4) Data Operations Oversight:

Oversees data operations by tracking clinical trials and clinical research project progress using project management tools such as Trello.

Reports project status and milestones to the VP of Research and Innovation, director of Regulatory Operations and other relevant stakeholders.

5) Project Management and Reporting:

Develops and executes project plans, ensuring alignment with research objectives and timelines.

Collaborates with data engineers and IT to optimize project workflows and ensure data integrity.

Provides regular reports on project progress, achievements, and challenges to the CAO.

Technical and Analytical Responsibilities:

1) Molecular (NGS and Protein) Data Analysis:

Leads the design and implementation of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis pipelines. Takes lead in developing methodologies to predict biomarkers in cancer or other translational research projects.

Oversees the analysis of protein-related data, ensuring the integration of advanced algorithms for comprehensive insights.

2) Data Integration and Biomedical Informatics:

Develops strategies for integrating diverse biological datasets, harmonizing genomics, proteomics, and clinical data for holistic analysis.

Applies biomedical informatics tools and programming languages for in-depth data analysis.

3) Collaboration with Data Engineering and IT:

Works closely with data engineers and IT professionals to support ongoing projects, ensuring seamless integration of biomedical informatics and clinical data. Collaborates on the development and optimization of data workflows to enhance efficiency and data quality.

4) Maintains and Models Nuvance Health Values.

5) Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.

6) Performs other duties as required.

Salary Range: $43.9212 - $81.5592 hourly, commensurate with experience

Working conditions:
