University of Miami Research Assistant - Assessor (Temporary, Part-Time) in Coral Gables, Florida

Part-Time Research Assistant:

The Assessor is a key team member, in the Miami-Dade area, of the AMP-IT-UP reading program team focused on remediating reading problems for middle school students with and at-risk for reading disabilities. This hourly position is from March 1, 2024 through September 30, 2024. Pay is $18.00 an hour. Number of hours are intermittent and change weekly dependent on the schools.

Principal Duties:

  • Participate in training of how to implement standardized assessments to an interrater compliance of 95%.

  • Implement standardized assessments to middle school students with and at-risk for reading disabilities.

  • Assist with coordinating all assessment schedules.

  • Represents the program professionally at meetings and community events.

  • Ensure all aspects of data collection of the protocol are being implemented rigorously.

  • Organize timely and accurate data reporting in program data systems such as excel.

  • Travels to schools to conduct assessments.

  • Provides weekly program and assessment updates to supervisor and attends program meetings.

  • Work flexible schedule which includes mornings, afternoon, evenings and some Saturdays.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate well with others.

  • Understanding of how to work with middle school students.

Education Requirements (Essential Requirements):

  • High school diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Work Experience Requirements (Essential Requirements):

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.

  • Experience with standardized assessment implementation.

  • Must have a valid Florida driver’s license.
