Hamilton College Visiting Assistant Professor in Classics in Clinton, New York

The Classics Department at Hamilton College invites applications for a one-year Visiting

Assistant Professor, beginning on July 1, 2024. The teaching load is 3-2 (five courses per year).

The area of specialization is open, but we seek a dynamic instructor prepared to teach the

following courses in the fall: Classical Mythology, Introductory Latin, and Advanced Latin

(topics/authors are flexible). In the spring term, the successful candidate will teach a Greek or

Latin language course and a course in translation of the candidate’s own design according to

their own interests and scholarly expertise. We seek applicants who can demonstrate their

experience in teaching or working with diverse student populations. ABD candidates will be

considered, although candidates with a Ph.D. are preferred. The salary range is $74,400 to

$76,900.
