Job Title: Building Services Technician

Job Summary:

The Building Services Technician will be responsible for monitoring nightly building closing as well as performing on demand WOs and scheduled PMs, inspections. Much of the on demand work to be performed will be requests that can not be completed when building is occupied during business hours; meeting room set ups, small furniture moves, carpet stain treatments, and basic lighting, plumbing and HVAC work. Work with other service providers and customer employee(s) to identify issues and communicate with team members, internal and external customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily building closure (building rounds, turn off lights, secure entrances, set building alarm to active)

  • On demand WOs (inclusive of work requests that can not or should not be done when DJJ employees in the building)

  • Scheduled PMs and Inspections

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five to seven years mechanical experience, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry required; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.

  • Three to five years’ maintenance experience

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions operating and maintenance instructions, and memos.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one on-one and small group situations of customers, clients and other employees of the organization

Physical Demands:

Typical physical demands are expected for a general handy man within an office setting. Light lifting, moving equipment, climbing ladders, bending, sitting or standing for long periods, climbing stairs and walking short distances.

Work Environment:

The work environment is typical for a office building with utility and mechanical rooms, stairwells, elevators, cubicles, offices and storage. The later part of the shift will be during a time when the building is unoccupied
