How you make a difference

As a Psychometrician within the Forensic Services Department, you will administer and score psychological testing instruments for court-ordered psychiatric patients undergoing inpatient treatment and evaluations. Your responsibilities will include evaluating cognitive and intellectual functioning, assessing violence risk, andidentifyingneurological or memory impairments while ensuring that assessments are completed accurately and under the direction of a licensed mental health professional. You will manage testing materials, organize referrals, and effectively communicate with both clinical and forensic staff to ensure theaccurateinterpretation of test results.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and score psychological tests while under the supervision of a licensed professional.

• Manage the referral procedures andprocesses, andconstruct mental health files for patients.

• Ensure that reports of psychometrician activities are completed regularlyin accordance withpolicies and procedures.

• Participate in staff meetings and in-service training programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related behavior sciences field from an accredited college or university.

• Master’s degree in psychology or related behavior science field from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience

• Coursework and related experience in administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological tests and assessments.

• Experience with the assessment or treatment of major mental illness.

• Computer skills and experience with computer scoring of psychological tests is desirable.
