TheYMCA Day Camp Counselorprovides fun and educational care to children entering 1st-7th grade in a summer day camp environment.

• Be a role model.
• Assure that children engage in fun, safe and constructive playtime, field trips and learning activities by implementing themed lesson plans daily.
• Supervise daily lunch and snack times.
• Use appropriate disciplinary methods.
• Maintain a clean, well-organized and safe environment.
• Assure child safety by understandingand following safety and security procedures.
• Observe children and communicate appropriately with program supervisors and parents.
• Attend and be an active participant at staff meetings and training.

Seasonal Shifts Available, Monday-Friday:

June 3rd-August 9th, 2024

• 8:30 am-5:30 pm
• 9:00 am-2:00 pm

After School Youth Leader shifts also available from 2:30 pm-6:00 pm for the remainder of the school year

YMCA Day Camp, or Camp Nakota, offers fun summer activities for youth entering 1st- 7th grade. These week-long programs leave from the YMCA each morning and are based at off-site locations such as local parks and other local or regional venues. The Camp Nakota Program also offers participants structured activities at the YMCA after their daily off-site trips until 5:30 pm.
