Job Description:

Binghamton University's Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences, School of Nursing, located at the newly renovated, state-of-the art health sciences campus in Johnson City, New York, is hiring three faculty members for its Graduate and/or Undergraduate programs and invites applicants for full-time, campus-based, 10- or 12- month faculty appointments. The positions encompass teaching, service, and scholarship.

These positions require the candidates to be ABD or PhD prepared, preferably in the discipline of nursing. The successful candidates will have a research trajectory and be involved in scholarly and service activities on a regional, state, or national level. These positions require graduate and/or undergraduate teaching, as well as other academic responsibilities. These activities include didactic and clinical teaching (if applicable), lecture development and delivery, course development, revision and evaluation, collaboration in the development of clinical simulation activities, and academic advising.

These candidates will be assigned courses based on area of expertise; contribute to advising and mentoring students; and engage in program, school, college, and university committees, as appropriate.

Ongoing scholarship is required for tenure track or tenured positions. Faculty normally have one day a week to devote to scholarship, practice, or external service. All candidates should be prepared to pursue research and scholarship in their area of expertise. There are multiple opportunities to become involved in interprofessional scholarship, which is valued at Binghamton University. Tenure track and tenured faculty are expected to contribute to the university mission through education, research, scholarship, and service.

All candidates should be prepared to mentor students as future nurse leaders, be committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion, and foster collaborate interprofessional learning and scholarship. We are seeking visionary educators and scholars who will make solid contributions to the Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences and Binghamton University.

Faculty rank, tenure-track and tenure options, and salary are dependent upon the successful candidate's experience and qualifications. Tenure-track/tenured faculty may qualify for designation as a Binghamton University Faculty Fellow.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • ABD (with PhD completed within one year of start date) or earned research doctorate in nursing, health sciences, or a closely related discipline from an accredited university.

  • Eligibility for appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor (tenure-track or tenured options).

  • Record of research trajectory and/or scholarship.

  • Eligible for professional licensure in New York State, applicable to candidates' discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level.

  • Eligible for APRN licensure in New York State, applicable to candidates prepared as a nurse.
