Summary of Position:

The Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs performs and oversees all academic and student-related functions at Michigan College of Optometry, an industry-leading optometry college dedicated to producing outstanding clinical optometrists. Academic affairs duties include oversight of the curriculum, assessment, faculty schedules, student schedules, disciplinary actions, development of policy letters, and faculty and student handbooks. Student affairs duties include oversight of recruitment, admissions, registration, financial aid, recruiting, scholarship and awards, counseling, student records, and student organizations. The Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs assumes the responsibilities and authority of the Dean when the Dean is unavailable. Big Rapids, Michigan is a small, safe, friendly place to call home with a reasonable cost of living. Michigan College of Optometry is headquartered in a beautiful building with state-of-the-art equipment,and serves its student body of 38 students per cohort. The anticipated start date of this position is January 2024. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed.
