Abonmarche is seeking a Senior Construction Technician in our Benton Harbor, MI office.

Responsibilities:

• Documents field activities, observations, and testing results on construction projects, and their conformance with (or deviation from) project plans and specifications.
• Completes field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate for compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and/or project specifications.
• Proficient with shooting grades.
• Maintain official project log and documentation files.
• Direct activities related to project construction contracts administration, including drawings process, field observations, reports, change orders and pay requests.
• Plans and coordinates project field inspection activities and reviews the work of inspectors and technicians to ensure compliance with job specifications (DWR approval).
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction.
• Assist Engineers in completion of construction administration in accordance with contracts.
• May organize and lead project meetings (precon, progress, etc.)

Education:

• High School Graduate.

   

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• OSHA 10, Troxler Safety & Hazmat Safety Training and 5+ years' experience with Materials Testing and DOT Certifications required.

• MDEQ Construction Site Stormwater Operator, MDEQ SESC Certification, ACEC Materials Acceptance Training, MDOT Prevailing Wage Training, MDOT Bridge Construction, ACI/MCA Concrete Certification, MDOT Density, MDOT HMA certification and MDOT Underground Pipe Installation & Inspection certification with 5+ years MDOT experience required.

   

Work Experience/Qualifications:

• 5+ Years.

Work Environment

• Typical office environment with some work performed outside on a project site. May be exposed to extreme temperatures. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety boots/shoes, hard hat, safety vest, etc.
