Job Requirement

We are looking for a Construction Support Manager to work on EPCM portfolio of projects under a general service agreement.

The role is to support the Construction Managers in the tactical and operational week to week, and day to day management of the safe and effective delivery of site construction activities, to allow the Construction Managers to focus on working strategically to deliver EPCM in line with the Client strategy.

Position Title: Construction Support Manager

Work Location: Basra, Iraq

Rotation Cycle: 6 days per week

Work Week: 54 hours/week

Project Duration: Long Term

Job Responsibility and Requirement

Accountabilities/Expectations:

  • Supports the Construction Managers by actively supporting the team and coordinating the day to day construction activities.

  • Attends the 12/6 week lookahead to ensure that work flowing into the field from engineering is prepared and ready for execution.

  • Attends the daily stand up on construction.

  • Proactively identify and address site-related challenges and issues, leveraging technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and collaboration with stakeholders to implement effective solutions and minimize project risks.

  • Generate accurate and timely reports on site progress, performance, issues, and accomplishments, providing clear and concise updates to project management teams, clients, and stakeholders as required.

  • Monitor contractor performance and adherence to contractual obligations, ensuring that work is completed in accordance with contract terms, specifications, and quality standards.

  • Continuously evaluate site operations and construction processes to identify opportunities for improvement, implementing best practices, and lessons learned to enhance efficiency, productivity, and safety performance.

  • Site Leadership - Provide strong leadership and direction to on-site construction teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence in execution to achieve project objectives and targets.

  • Identify and assess potential risks on-site, including safety hazards, technical challenges, and environmental concerns, and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and liabilities.

  • Site Safety Culture -Promote a strong safety culture on-site through proactive safety leadership, training, and engagement initiatives, empowering all site personnel to prioritize safety, identify hazards, and intervene when necessary.

  • Site BOC Interface: Serve as the primary on-site interface with BOC SE , consultants, and regulatory authorities, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and facilitating site visits to ensure client satisfaction and project alignment.

E ducation

  • Bachelors or Diploma degree., i.e. Civil

    Experience and Skill set

  • Minimum 12 years’ experience in Oil and Gas related projects

  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in Oil and Gas Project Delivery in a multidiscipline workforce

  • Strong leadership and teambuilding skills

  • Supervisory experience

  • Fluent English skills

  • Preferably Iraqi nationals
