The University of Maryland, Baltimore Student Counseling Center has an opportunity for a full-time Psychoeducational Testing Psychologist.The Student Counseling Center is a part of UMB Student Affairs, a unit associated with the Office of the Provost. The selected candidate will work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary Student Counseling Center team. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive, culturally aware, psychoeducational evaluations of undergraduate, graduate, and professional students referred for potential diagnoses of learning disabilities, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), or other psychological conditions that impact their learning. Students may be referred through the Student Counseling Center or Educational Support and Disability Services, recommendation by an academic faculty or staff member, or self-referred. The person in this position will screen students seeking evaluations, select and administer culturally appropriate assessment measures, analyze results, compile diagnostic reports, and provide feedback to students. Diagnostic reports would be provided to students to share with appropriate healthcare providers and/or to request academic accommodations. The Psychoeducational Testing Psychologist will also develop and facilitate workshops to the University community about learning disorders and ADHD in adult learners, study skills and strategies for UMB students, and other related topics. This position will supervise staff and students in the academic and professional development coaching program who are trained to provide one-to-one coaching to students focused on developing effective study skills and work habits, improving time management, or progression on professional goals. The Psychoeducational Testing Psychologist will contribute to the externship training program in the Student Counseling Center through consultation, leading didactic seminars, and potentially supervising a doctoral-level psychology extern for one comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation case. Exempt regular staff receive a generous leave package that includes over 4 weeks of vacation accrued each year, paid holidays, unlimited accrual of sick time, and comprehensive health insurance; professional learning and development programs; tuition remission for employees and their dependents at any University System of Maryland school; and flexible work schedules and teleworking options (if applicable per job). *PRIMARY DUTIES * Provides psychological and psychoeducational evidence-based testing to undergraduate and graduate/professional adult students for learning disabilities, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, or other psychological conditions that may impact learning. * Develop screening procedures for referred students to determine if a student’s concerns are appropriate for psychoeducational testing and evaluation. * Conducts, reviews, and interprets comprehensive clinical assessments including biopsychosocial interviews; collateral reports from family, friends, or partners; self-report symptom measures; and psychological/psychoeducational assessments for working memory, executive functioning, visual and spatial abilities, and reasoning skills. * Provides culturally appropriate diagnostic evaluations with regards to the impact of cultural norms and experiences on selection of assessment measures, interpretation of data, and diagnoses and recommendations. * Creates diagnostic reports compliant with accommodation requirements for standardized testing. * Provides feedback and treatment recommendations based on results of diagnostic reports. * Assist in the development and updates of policies and procedures for psychological and psychoeducational testing as well as manages a waitlist for referrals. * Completes and maintains timely, accurate, and confidential records in compliance with state laws and professional ethics codes. * Trains faculty and supervises/trains staff and students of the academic and professional development coaching program, which includes recruiting and training faculty, staff, and/or students who provide one-to-one executive functioning coaching to students. Provides supervision to graduate students in the Training program as needed. * Assists with the design and implementation of psychoeducational programs and outreach activities for the campus community, including students, faculty, staff, student organizations, related academic departments, and Student Affairs units. * Engages in professional development activities to maintain licensure/certification including qualifications to supervise doctoral/masters level trainees. * Performs other potential related duties as assigned by the Student Counseling Center’s Executive Director. Education:Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (PhD) or a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) preferably from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program. Experience:One (1) year of related experience. Preferred Experience:Experience designing and implementing effective strategies for supporting the success of students preferred. Direct work experience with college students and/or graduate students preferred. Certification/Licensure:Licensed psychologist in the state of Maryland or eligibility for licensure in the State of Maryland. Other:No substitution of experience for minimum education requirement.
