Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of technical testing team members and non-testing team members including but not limited to the finance specialist(s), project manager(s), and data manager(s)

  • Oversight of assay development professional(s) with particular focus to the autoimmune testing test development

  • Drive outreach and communication with physicians and clinical trials stake holders to aid in providing quality patient care.

  • Identification of new areas of need clinical testing and growth and develop and test protocols to meet those needs that meet all applicable standards for using in clinical patient care under HSS, CMS, US FDA, CAP and CLIA.

Assistant Professor:

  • PhD in immunology or related field

  • Board Certification as a Clinical Medical Director as defined by HSS, CAP and CLIA

This position is as Medical Director within Exsera BioLabs in the Division of Rheumatology, Department of Medicine of the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Exsera BioLabs is a dynamic and internationally respected diagnostic laboratory working in complement immunobiology and autoimmunity testing. The successful candidate will be instrumental in growing the laboratory impact on human health, bring up new regulatory compliant testing to answer unmet medical questions and propel diagnosis and also providing compliant testing in support of novel drug development. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in autoimmunity testing and familiarity with complement immunobiology. Once in the role, the new faculty member will be responsible for providing depth in testing and personnel oversight filling in gaps in the current experience available within Exsera. The successful candidate will work in tandem with the clinical research happening within the Division of Rheumatology and the SOM in general to develop new understanding of disease inception and progression.
