Albion College Adjunct Instructor or Adjunct Assistant Professor of French in Albion, Michigan

Albion College invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor or Adjunct Assistant Professor of French. We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to a campus climate that supports equity, diversity, and belonging. 

Duties include teaching two French language courses (currently FREN 101 and FREN 102 - pending enrollment) during Fall 2024. MA required, specialization open. Courses meet in person three times per week (MWF). The candidate is expected to provide quality and engaging instruction in all delivery methods and formats; provide timely and meaningful feedback to students regarding the mastery of course and program learning outcomes in their acquisition of French language; engage students outside of class in support of their learning and the curriculum; support the College's mission; satisfy campus expectations of faculty performance. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. The ideal candidate would be an interdisciplinary scholar whose work engages students both in French pedagogy but also in areas related to either gender, international studies or other interdisciplinary subjects.

Full-Time/Part-Time: Part-Time

Position Duration: 1 semester (16 weeks, August, 2024 -- December 2024)

Compensation: $3,500 per 1 unit course

 

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in French required; Ph.D. or terminal degree preferred

  • Experience in language instruction
