UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Mainframe Configuration Technician. This will be a hybrid position, and the office will be in Manhattan, NY. Candidates must be able to work a minimum of 3 days onsite in Manhattan, NY.

Position: The Mainframe Configuration Technician will ensure seamless mainframe migrations for the City's vital payroll systems. The candidate will coordinate complex migrations, verify documentation, and support disaster recovery drills with ClearQuest and ClearCase to ensure adherence to agency procedures.

  MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or in a Technical/Business Discipline is required.

• Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.

• Proficiency in compiling, linking, and binding COBOL programs.

• Experience with Rational ClearQuest and ClearCase.

• Familiarity with TSO/ISPF.

• Proficiency with JCL.

• Strong understanding of standard system development life cycle methodologies.

• Familiarity with MS Word and Excel.

• Knowledge of DB2 and IMS DB/DC.

• Experience with PeopleSoft.

• Experience with UNIX.

• Experience working in Configuration Management with mainframe or midrange computers.

  SCOPE OF SERVICES:

• Perform migration of production mainframe objects with ClearQuest Change Management software.

• Migrate mainframe objects to various test environments.

• Perform post-production migrations to backfill test environments with latest code versions and related objects.

• Compile, link, and bind COBOL programs in all test environments.

• Verify proper documentation of requests by Applications teams.

• Deliver all migration elements to Tech Support with specific instructions included.

• Participate in supporting Disaster Recovery Tasks and document any arising issues.
